We have tried to answer some of the commonest questions asked of us but please do give us a call to discuss your particular requirements.
How much time do you need to set up and what time do you arrive?
Our normal set up time is around 1 and a half hours, this would include the sound check, obviously this can vary slightly depending on proximity of unloading bay/parking from the stage. We would liase with your venue to find a suitable time to arrive and set-up; this is usually either before the event starts or when the venue clears down a room after the meal and speeches have been completed. We always try to accommodate the client's wishes without incurring additional charges to the original quote. Two reserved parking spaces close to the access area will assist with the setting up time.
What are your power requirements and how much space do you need?
We would require a minimum of two 13 amp plug sockets to be located within the vicinity of the stage area. Electrical supply must confirm to BSI standards. The stage/performance area for the band should at least 7mtrs X 5mtrs. We also require two 13 amp plug sockets and a space at the front for our sound engineer. Sound and power requirements would be discussed with the client and venue prior to confirming the booking.
The venue has asked us whether the bands equipment is tested and if you have Public Liability Insurance.
Every piece of our electrical equipment has been P.A.T. (portable appliance tested) to ensure that it is electrically safe. We have certification as evidence if necessary. The band also carry public liability insurance
How much do you charge?
Each enquiry is priced according to where it is taking place, what time we need to set-up and play, and what you require from us on the day. We will endeavour to fit to a client's budget or suggest alternative musical options. We are happy to discuss your requirements and to quote you accordingly.
Do the band require refreshments?
It would be nice. We are often on the road for several hours what with travelling, setting up and playing etc so it is very much appreciated when our clients offer us refreshments. It doesn't have to be elaborate, just something to keep up our energy levels.
How far in advance do I need to book the band?
To secure your preferred date, the sooner the better! Of course, if the band is available last minute we will endeavour to cater for your requirements, however please be aware that this is less likely during busy Summer and Christmas periods. If Crossfire is not available, we may be able to recommend alternative performers.
What music do you play?
Crossfire feature the best music from the 60s to the present day. We tailor our set lists to suit the occasion, so we do not normally play requests live on the night. However, if you do have a favourite song, we would be happy to try and include it if you can give us sufficient notice.
What about music in between live sets?
If requested, we can provide recorded music in between our live sets to keep the dance floor full. This is not a DJ / Disco though and therefore requests on the night are rarely possible. However, if you have a CD or mp3 player with your favourite music on, we are happy to play it through out FOH equipment if arranged in advance.
Where can we see you play?
As nearly all of our bookings are for private functions, it is rarely possible to advise of a public performance. However, keep checking our news page and we will advise if any are up and coming. In some cases, depending on your location, it may be possible for you to come along to one of our rehearsals where you can hear and meet us.
If there's anything we've missed, please do give us a call.
